Caving (Longchurn) Year 8 Day 4 - 2 Mar

A Smashing day's Caving with a great group!

Despite a number of very nervous people, the whole group worked hard to support one another and overcome there fears.

The group learned lots about the Geography of the local area and how the caves were formed.

Walking up Alum Pot Lane.

 Doesn't Alisa look happy!!

Some huge achievements in some of the tighter squeezes - Well done!

What a gorgeous day!

Lets hope Monday's as nice for kayaking!

Homework questions. (prizes available for correct answers)
What type of rock are the caves formed in?
What is the name of the deposit left behind on stalactites when water drips off them?

You did very well today Angel; its hard when your nervous and not sure what to expect but soon after you were really getting into it, were very helpful with the ropes and well done for leading sections.

Overall tho, the whole group did fantastic and achieved so much, especially a select few.... We were so lucky to have such a gorgeous sunny, warm spring day.
Lets hope the weathers as nice for kayaking Monday.
Don't forget the homework.
