Ghyll Scrambling - Stickle Ghyll - Year 7 - Day 1 - 27th June

A cracking 1st day out with our new super keen year 7 group.

The group moved so quickly and worked so well together we manged to get all the way to the top of the main pitch and still have time for a quick swim at the end!

A well earned rest under the bridge half way up.

A forfeit for getting water in the wellies - everyone wanted one today to cool them down!

The group finding their own way up the Ghyll

Traversing. who will fall in?

Oh miles again - good lad!!!

We found lots of 'bog violets' growing on the side of the Ghyll.  Bog violets are rare carnivorous plants that trap small bugs on their sticky leaves and then absorb them as food!

Climbing the final pitch!

A very well earned swim at the end for those who fancied it!
