Walk and Quarry Exploration - Year 7 - Day 5 - 17th May

We had to find a foul weather option today rather than the planned Climbing this group had left to do!

We decided to go for a walk from Hodge Close to Cathedral Quarries near Coniston.  We spent a fair bit of time on the way to Cathedral collecting tinder and wood for the Kelly Kettle Stove.

We entered the cathedral through a tunnel using candles for light.  After lunch and a hot chocolate brewed on the Kelly kettle we cut toasting sticks, toasted marsh mellows and everyone had a go at making fire using a flint and steel!
